Read Receipt

At work, they want us to have the automatic read receipt function turned on for our outgoing email. That way, when a client complains they never got our mail we might have some way to say, "uh, yeah, you did....see." Normally the receipt you get back is pretty generic and along the lines of:
user abc123@our-hospital.com read the message 08/02/06 at 3:23:41 pm

The one I got back after sending my best friend at Cornell *he's my best BEST friend, not just my best friend AT Cornell* an email is exceptional:

This is a Return Receipt for the mail that you sent to NewProf@cornell.edu.

Note: This Return Receipt only acknowledges that the message was displayed
on the recipient's computer. There is no guarantee that the recipient has
read or understood the message contents.

I just wish we had the read-or-understood-the-message-contents receipt at work. That would make MY job so much easier.

Saturday

Almost forgot to post this -- someone ran a piece of front ensemble equipment into the passenger door of my month-old car. Not horrible but not happy about either. Even more disappointed that the person who did it didn't apparently care enough to actually tell me about it. Thanks.
