First order of business -- Happy Birthday, James.

Secondly, text message mystery solved and I rescind my previous comments about a certain someone not trying to contact.

Thirdly, last night was just another example of having the foresight to "do the right thing." A bunch of us were at Dave and Buster's for a birthday party and the birthday girl's boyfriend had rented the billiard room, gotten some food, and so forth. It turns out they assign a waitress to the room and just run one big tab. Well, that sounded like a bad idea to me so Brian and I got our own drinks. When the $1200 tab came at the end of the night and people were forking over a bunch of money, we felt pretty good about our decision.

Lastly, Brian and I stumbled across a really great band in Manhattan the other night. A friend of mine was playing with them so we took a chance. I can see these guys getting in the next year or two. The Animators are worth listening to.

Just cause you're 4000 miles away does not exempt you from the "follow-up girl call.
Text message saying you made it home okay, I'd even take one of those...

It's a pretty defeating feeling knowing you WANT to call in sick but really can't because you're the only one in the office to do the training. It's a more defeating feeling know there are trainings from 9-10, 10-11, 11-12, and 2-3. Not even a real half day only in there where I could know I could come home and sleep. Feh.
I'm sick and exhausted and yet I can't sleep.
This just sucks.

My mom has recently gotten into beading so we went to a couple stores when she was here. I think I might be addicted now, too. This is my first necklace....well, part of it. I didn't have the right light to get the whole thing.

Getting a makeover at Macy's: Pretty cool
Buying $121 worth of the makeover product: Okay, as long as I use it
Not seeing a broadway show this time into the city: Fine, the line was TOO long
Buying the picture I wanted from the artist outside the Met: excellent
Negotiating some really good prices down on Canal St: nice
Eating an excellent dinner in Little Italy: excellent (what else did you expect!?)
Walking to Zum Schneider's in Alphabet City to see TubaJoe's band: sketchy
Getting there and realizing the band played in the afternoon: disappointing
Having too many entries named "Joe" in your cell phone book: Not useful
Seeing your train pull away just as you make it to the platform: Again, disappointing

Still no call.
At this point, there probably won't be one.

But, all is well, my mom is here.

I'm going to try really hard to not be disappointed when he doesn't call.

In other news, I get to see my mom in less than 48 hours. That is awesome.
